PAOLI WILDCAT BASKETBALL

Inter-County Basketball Association (ICBA)  was created in 2009 and currently has over 50 different organizations participating in the league.  The PWBL will enter the following teams for the 2011-2012 season.  Tryouts for these teams are listed below.   

• 9 year olds/4^th Grade (Born on or after August 1, 2001)

Grade Exception: A player who is in 4th grade and born on or after August 1, 2001. 

Teams:  2 Boys teams only.   These two teams will not be split into an A & B squad.  They will be split evenly with the emphasis on teaching.

• 10 year olds/5^th Grade (Born on or after August 1, 2000)

Grade Exception: A player who is in 5th grade and born on or after August 1, 2000.

Teams: Boys - A & B Team 

Girls - A Team

• 11 year olds/6^th Grade (Born on or after August 1, 1999)

Grade Exception: A player who is in 6th grade and born on or after August 1, 1999.

Teams: Boys - A & B Team 

Girls - A Team

• 12 year olds/7^th Grade (Born on or after August 1, 1998)

Grade Exception: A player who is in 7th grade and born on or after August 1, 1998.

Teams: Boys - A & B Team 

Girls - A Team

• 13 year olds/8^th Grade (Born on or after August 1, 1997)

Grade Exception: A player who is in 8th grade and born on or after August 1, 1997. 

Teams: Boys - A & B Team  

Girls - A Team

Teams:  The boys will attempt to have two teams per age groups for the upcoming ICBA season.  This will all depend on the number of players and coaches we can get in each age group.  If we do not get enough coaches then we will probably on have one team for that age group.

Grade Exceptions: Each team is allowed a maximum of three grade exception players.  Players participating under the grade eligibility exception must present a birth certificate and confirmation of grade level from a school administrator. 

Fees:   $175.00 (9, 10, 11 & 12 year olds)

            $200.00 (13 year olds)

ICBA Season: The ICBA will consist of a 12 game regular season, six games will be played at home and six away.  Generally, the away games are on weekends but there could be an occasional week night away game.  The PWBL will attempt to schedule all weekday games at home to cut down on travel time during the school week.  The season will start the week of December 12 and run through February 20 with the playoffs beginning on March 1.

If your child has a conflict between an intramural PWBL game and an ICBA game, the PWBL intramural game takes priority.  Your child is expected to attend all games and practices if selected for an ICBA team.   If you do not think you can commit to the team schedule then please do not have your child tryout.

Tryouts for both the boys & girls (10, 11, 12 & 13 yr olds) will take place on Sunday October 2 & Monday, October 3.  The 9 year old boys will have tryouts on Tuesday, October 18 and Wednesday, October 19, both at VFMS from 6-7:30.  The October 19 date for the 9 year olds will be a scrimmage and parents are more than welcome to attend.   Coaches will be selected after tryouts are completed.
